Building Strong Families
In the days in which we are living, we have seen a violent attack come against families. Satan, who is our real enemy, is ever walking about as a roaring lion trying to divide and destroy family relationships. God the Father, on the other hand, has a desire and plan for each family to succeed.
The Bible reveals many important yet practical keys -that when implemented, bring God's blessing into the home. With God's help, many relationship problems can not only be solved but totally avoided. No matter what point we may feel we are at in our relationships with others, there is always the potential for improvement and growth. To build and keep strong families, believers must build their relationships on the precepts of God's Word.
Like-minded believers need to fellowship with one another. God does not call anyone to go through life alone. For singles and those who feel all alone, God has not forgotten about you because according to Psalms 68:6 "God setteth the solitary (single ones; not having company) in families." The congregation of Abundant Life Family Church has a caring, family spirit and has a focus of helping families grow stronger in their relationships with others.
Equipping the Saints
Ephesians 4:8-16 reveals to us the plan of God for the spiritual growth of the body of Christ. Each ministry gifts listed in this chapter has a specific and necessary function in the body of Christ. In this passage of Scripture, we see that these ministry gifts are to bless the body of Christ so that:
- Every believer can mature in their walk with the Lord
- The work of the ministry can be done on the earth
- The body of Christ can grow spiritually and numerically.
The most prominent gift in the local church setting is the Pastor. God said in Jeremiah 3:15: "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." In these last days, God's desire is for each of His children to be on-going students of His Word so they can be "a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work" (2 Timothy 2:15-21).
Jesus is the Great Shepherd who is over all Shepherds (Pastors). The local church is the primary gathering place where believers meet together to meet with God. His will is that each believer would have a local church where they faithfully attend and serve (Hebrews 10:25). Equipping the believer is our heart's desire so that we, as a local church, can do our part in the body of Christ, which is to do greater and greater exploits for God's Kingdom (Daniel 11:32).
Healing the Sick
Sickness is an enemy and will try to invade the life of every believer. The Bible teaches us that it is God's will for all of His children to walk in health--all of their life. Jesus Christ took sin and all sickness and disease on the cross so we might be able to walk on the earth in Divine health (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1st Peter 2:24).
Believers must have a firm foundation concerning not only God's ability and willingness to heal all; but also learn how to receive divine healing. The time comes to us all when we, a loved one, a friend, a neighbor, or a co-worker is in need of healing. Healing the sick is a ministry that all believers should have and we believe not only training believers on an on-going basis how to receive healing for themselves and walk in Divine health, but how to minister healing to the world (Mark 16:15-20).
Reaching the Lost
The heart of the Father is revealed in what Jesus was sent to do. In Luke 19:10 we read "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." God loves the lost and we should too (John 3:16). The Scriptures say: "The Lord . . . is not willing that any perish, but that all should come to repentance (2nd Peter 3:9). The "heartbeat" of the Father God is for the church to fulfill the great commission as revealed in Mark 16:15-20.
Learning how the Master reached the lost is important for all believers to know. We are called to be planters of good seed (which is the Gospel) and allow God to bring the increase (1st Corinthians 3:6). Our vision is to continually train believers how to confidently and boldly share the Gospel to with those around them.
